The one problem with multiple monitor setups is that your primary monitor is the only one with the taskbar at the bottom. If you want to maximize an application you need to mouse back to the primary monitor to do it. While this seems like a minor, fussy problem, in reality this happens many, many times per day and gets annoying.
Wouldn't you know, there is a fix. Oscar's Multi-Monitor taskbar adds a task bar on your second (or even third) monitor. The apps that are open on that monitor minimize to that taskbar.
By the way, if you aren't running multiple monitors and want to MediaChance gives general directions. I found it easy - with the help of the Best Buy guys I picked out a medium-priced gaming graphics card that could handle two monitors (most can). Plug it into the computer, use the provided adapter for the second monitor and -boom- it was working.

Oscar's Multi-Monitor Taskbar is a really nifty tool, I love it! I had the exact same problem when using a second monitor with my laptop, but this little app fixed it and spared me a lot of time and stress. Not to mention that it's freeware!
