Yes that piece of software from Microsoft does a good job. I'm sorry to say I don't see any free source variant cming too soon

My money is on Captivate from Adobe. Much better than the Microsoft version

I worked with a lot of companies that develop this type of training using Captivate and Camtasia, but Pentext seems to be the best for development and support.
