 Three-dimensional versions of the band members - called Avatars - have been commissioned and will be revealed in September. The band hopes to perform their first virtual concert in the coming months.What I am interested in is how (and if) Duran Duran's Second Life appearances help their real-world career. I, for one, had no idea they were still releasing albums. |
You are right, Jackie - their enthusiasm for Second Life is an important key to both attracting crowds to their virtual concerts, but also attracting new users to Second Life.

I believe that it’s the first time a band uses a virtual world in this way. The chances that they will make history in a few weeks with their pop avatar band are very high considering that they are delighted to be citizens of “Second Life” and a lot of people are expecting the event.
