OneNote is a desktop application that allows you to type notes and drag and drop images, files, web clippings - pretty much anything you can highlight. It will also record sounds, which is great in a school or meeting situation.
It is now easier to keep different notebooks - the notebooks appear minimized on the far left of the screen. OneNote also allows for notebooks to be stored online or on a server and shared with a group - very useful in a team setting.
I use OneNote as my one grand digital inbox for GTD. It integrates to Outlook, so I send emails that require actions right to OneNote and store them in an "Active" tab in my main notebook. Attachments to the emails are kept right within the OneNote page and the emails retain their formatting. As I complete each emailed task - I move it to my "done" folder.
I'm looking forward to seeing how OneNote integrates with the rest of the Office Suite.
