About two months ago, Sprint screwed up my DSL order. It wasn't surprising, really. I could write for hours about all the screwups I've experienced from that company - landline as well as cellular, but no other telco serves my area, and all the telcos have their own issues, not to mention high charges.

This coming Wednesday, I'm due to receive my VoIP equipment from Vonage. Once I know it's working properly, I'm looking forward to callling Sprint and dropping everything from my service except a 1FR (dail tone only) for emergency reasons.

VoIP and P2P appear to be the future of telecommunications, in spite of the best efforts of major players like Sprint to either disparage it, ignore it or incorporate it at inflated pricing arrangements. Well, this week I'll be using Vonage and Skype for 99% of all my personal calls, and I'm very happy about it.
