Good Collaboration Tools MUST have GOOD search integrated, otherwise, the tool is doomed to become a derivative form of a message board or forum. While forums are useful and have their place, there is nothing revolutionary about a collaboration tool's ability to act as a message board.I would add that searches should encompass the ability to search by date and time created and modified, by person, keywords, title, and a combination of all of the above.
While many collaboration tools contain some degree of search, few if any, encompass full text and complete document search.
Tagging has become so ubiquitous that it would also be useful, but if full text and document search is enabled, the tags could be built right into the text of the document.

Good stuf Diane... thanks... Can tags be built into the text of a document now...? Not sure how that happens? Do you know?
