Microsoft is serious about the Business Intelligence market. 40% of the Fortune 1000 companies are currently engaged in implementing a BI solution and while MS is relatively new to the field (in comparison with SAP, for example), it's committed to it. Part of that commitment is evidenced by it's acquisition of
ProClarity, a long-time partner in the Business Intelligence field.
Since Business Intelligence is part of Microsoft Office, watch for further innovations to be released along with Office 2007, particularly with Microsoft's
Office Business Scorecard Manager. That's now officially my baby, at least as far as the documentation is concerned!
