I'm probably one of the few people who don't use MySpace. I really don't have any desire to network for social reasons. In fact, both my wife and I enjoy the company of four-legged animals much more than two-legged ones. But I do appreciate that it's THE hot property right now for start-up projects that are looking to get their slice of the venture capital pie and therefore would like to underscore a bit of unconventional wisdom that emerged from the SXSW show.
Jim Coudal of Coudal Partners, a Chicago design firm, talked about how his firm chooses their projects. He asks three questions: “Will we be able to do good work? Will we be able to make money on it? And will we be able to learn a little something new along the way?” I love succinctness, don't you?
You can hear Jim's speech, along with Jason Fried's of 37 Signals, by visiting the Coudal Partners site.
