Web 2.0 is one of those un-definable terms, which makes it hard to create a distinction between it and Collaboration applications. If you'd like to see an up-to-date listing of web-based applications, check out this really cool Web 2.0 map. Scroll down the right side and see an amazingly complete list of Web 2.0 apps, some of which are RTC products.
Take Zoho, for example. It offers a shared document workspace where you and your team members can jointly work in an online word processor. Compare that with Writely, which promotes a similar shared service. Then there's Zimbra, which is an enterprise-level collaboration solution.
If you spend a few minutes with this Web 2.0 map, you'll find a lot of really cool, often free, services that will improve your ability to work online in conjunction with your colleagues or friends.
As far as the difference between Web 2.0 and Collaboration 2.0, the latter is pretty well enscounced in the former so while some collaboration writers have tried to make that distinction (see Robin Good's Kolabora site), I don't advise it. In fact, I think we're a little early with this whole Web 2.0 thing. But that's gristle for a different post.

Thanks for visiting ThePublishingSpot, Jeff. I'll keep following your new stuff too.
Web 2.0 is a funny idea, and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes down.
I loved this comment on the Web 2.0 app map on BoingBoing.net:
"like seeing the thousand swooshes of the companies that used to populate SoMa lofts during the dotcom boom."
Check it out here:
