More on Microsoft Communicator and VoIP
A reader recently asked me how this exciting service will be implemented. I've started making inquiries at Microsoft today, and don't have all the details yet, however it now appears that it will first be available for Microsoft's enterprise customers.

I feel certain that it will roll out to consumers after there's more product feedback and testing. Considering what a major impact it will have on traditional mobile services, that's a reasonable strategy for Microsoft to adopt. I can tell you, however, that it's absolutely not reliant on Wi-Fi hotspots. Instead, a connection is made between Communicator Mobile (in your Smartphone) and Communicator Server (at your employer).

More to come...
